Cleaning Restoration

This cleaning process was done by our in-house restorer Paul Walden. This painting had surface grime with discolored aged varnish. He started by removing the surface grime and then removed the aged varnish. After he completed the basic cleaning, the canvas was still loose, so he tightened the canvas and varnished the painting again to complete the restoration.

Repair Restoration

This repair was done by our in-house restorer Paul Walden. The A.D. Greer painting has a long horizontal tear in the sky and a small tear in the trees. He started by cleaning the painting surface and then wax lined the painting onto a new canvas support. After he completed that he repaired the tears and touched up the painting to appear there was never a tear at all!
