Eugene Morelli
Eugene Morelli, of Missoula, Montana, began sculpting in 1980 shortly after graduating from the University of Montana with a degree in Biology. Fine furniture and musical maker, he made his first sculptures from various woods. He quickly added hand-wrought bronze and silver, and limited edition bronze casts to his repertoire, and now his artwork is in demand throughout the United States.
A world-class bird sculptor, Morelli’s work has won several awards in national and international competitions, as well as being chosen by the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum for their prestigious "Birds in Art" exhibition. His work blends accuracy and detail with impressionistic textures and compositions, and artistic sculptural designs to capture motion and the essence of each species portrayed.
Much of Morelli's success as an artist can be attributed to his extensive studies of wildlife. This fieldwork gives him the knowledge and expertise to accomplish realism in his work and also maintains the joy and excitement so clearly visible in his art.
