Don Webster

Don Webster is a native Oklahoman whose interest in wildlife has long influenced his work. Though most of his career has been in the field of music, he feels there is a relationship between music and sculpture. This belief is quite evident in the graceful fluid lines of his work. Don chooses to work in stone, wood, and bronze, since these mediums provide many exciting challenges and respond perfectly to his personal style. There is an emotional involvement evident in his work, as he finds the unique and irreplaceable wood and stone sculpture to be very satisfying. After earning music degrees from OSU and OU, studying sculpture at the University of Tulsa, Don worked as a high school band director and public school administrator before turning to art full-time. He was a guest artist in the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He has also done several commissions, including the outdoor piece, "Freedom," at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, New Mexico. Don's work in being shown in galleries in the southwest and his pieces are in public and private collections across the United States.
