Greg Erway
Greg Erway is a contemporary Western artist whose work reflects a deep, lived connection to the Great Plains. His paintings go beyond depiction—they carry the stories, people, animals, and enduring spirit of the American West. Through bold color and layered technique, Greg creates pieces that feel both contemporary and timeless. <br> <br>Greg’s path as an artist has been shaped by a lifetime of creative disciplines. He began as a carpenter, developing a respect for craftsmanship and structure, before pursuing music—earning a master’s degree in choral conducting and serving over 35 years as a worship arts and music pastor. These experiences continue to influence his work, bringing rhythm, harmony, and intention to his visual storytelling. <br> <br>Greg is the owner and artist-in-residence at Wildfire Gallery in Oklahoma City’s historic Paseo Arts District. <br> <br>Greg’s work has been featured in notable exhibitions including Small Works, Great Wonders at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, the Western Art Experience at the C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana, and the annual show at the Mountain Oyster Club in Tucson, Arizona. In 2026, he was honored as the featured artist for the 60th annual Festival of the Arts presented by the Arts Council of Oklahoma City. <br> <br>In addition to exhibitions, Greg has completed significant commissions, including work for the renovation of the Oklahoma Governor’s Mansion. <br> <br>At his core, Greg has always been driven by a desire to bring beauty into the lives of others. He and his wife, Denice, have been married for 39 years and have raised three children, all now pursuing their own creative paths. That legacy of creativity and storytelling continues to shape both his life and his work.
